Preview: Everton vs Leicester City –Prediction, Team News, Line-ups

Everton will be looking to move a whopping 10 points clear of the bottom three with victory against Leicester City at Goodison Park this Saturday.

Both sides earned hugely important away wins last weekend and will want to continue their momentum with another success.

Match Preview

Everton’s fortunes have massively improved since David Moyes returned to Goodison as head coach.

His first game in charge saw the Toffees falling to a 1-0 defeat against Aston Villa, with Ollie Watkins providing the decisive goal.

But the Scot has since inspired his side to two big wins against Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton & Hove Albion.

They were particularly impressive against Spurs, scoring three goals before the end of the first-half. Ange Postecoglou’s side pulled two goals back, but Everton held on to win 3-2.

The Toffees followed that up with a 1-0 success against the Seagulls, thanks to Iliman Ndiaye’s first-half penalty.

Moyes’ men will now take on Leicester, who are six points below them in 17th place in the table.

The Foxes parted company with Steve Cooper, appointing Ruud van Nistelrooy as new manager in December.

Leicester are yet to see a big improvement under the Dutch boss, but they will be in a buoyant mood after their victory over Tottenham last weekend.

The Midlands outfit conceded first before Jamie Vardy and Bilal El Khannouss scored in the second-half to condemn the hosts to a 2-1 defeat.

Team News

Everton’s win against Brighton came at a big cost for them, as Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Orel Mangala sustained injuries, with the latter now ruled out for the rest of the season.

With Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti also sidelined, Moyes only has Beto as a fit central striker.

As for Leicester, Ricardo Pereira and Abdul Fatawu remain out due to fitness issues. But Mads Hermensen has recovered and is expected to return between the sticks this weekend.

Everton vs Leicester City prediction

The recent injuries to Mangala and Calvert-Lewin will be a big blow to Everton. But given they will be playing at home against a struggling Leicester side, we believe Moyes’ men will collect maximum points on Saturday.
