Everton are expected to be very busy in the summer transfer window.
Several players are out of contracts at Goodison Park in June, while many will return to their parent clubs after the expiry of their loan deals.
Manager David Moyes made a brilliant impact after returning as head coach in January, but now he will look to make quality additions this summer to improve their league position in 2025-26.
Below are three Ligue 1 stars the Blues can target to bolster their squad for the next season.
Georges Mikautadze
Everton will be looking to bolster their attacking options, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin out of contract this summer and Armando Broja scheduled to be back at Chelsea. Georges Mikautadze appears to be a quality option for the Toffees, and he could be available to sign for a bargain fee.
Mikautadze joined Lyon from Metz last summer for a fee around €23 million. The 24-year-old hit the ground running at the Groupama Stadium, scoring 17 goals and registering 11 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions.
Jonathan David
David Moyes’ side are huge admirers of Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap. But a deal is expected to be very difficult as Chelsea and Manchester United are also battling to secure the 22-year-old’s signature.
Everton could turn their focus towards Canada international Jonathan David, who has been earning rave reviews with his performances at Lille since joining the club in 2020. But the former Gent star is set to leave the Ligue 1 outfit this summer as a free agent, which means Moyes’ side have a brilliant opportunity to sign him.
Rasmus Nicolaisen
The Merseyside outfit are also expected to bolster their defence in the summer transfer window. Rasmus Nicolaisen looks to be a smart acquisition for them, with the 28-year-old having proved his abilities in Denmark and France.
Nicolaisen has been a consistent performer for Toulouse since joining the club in 2021, making 126 appearances across all competitions and scoring seven goals. The Danish centre-back remained sidelined for the majority of the 2024-25 campaign due to an ankle injury, but there is no doubt he is a solid defender when fully fit.
