Preview: Everton vs Liverpool – team news, line-ups, prediction

Everton will go head-to-head with Liverpool at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this Sunday.

The Toffees will be looking for revenge after losing the reverse fixture 2-1 at Anfield in September.

Match Preview

Everton are exceeding expectations under David Moyes this season, as they look to secure European football for the first time since 2018.

They currently sit eight in the Premier League table, with just one point behind sixth-placed Chelsea.

Everton came away with a point after playing out a 2-2 draw at Brentford last weekend.

Igor Thiago struck twice to put the hosts on course for victory at the Gtech Community Stadium, but Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored a dramatic injury-time goal to ensure the spoils were shared.

Everton have a brilliant opportunity to beat Liverpool, who are enduring a terrible form at the moment.

The Reds were sent crashing out of the FA Cup after a 4-0 drubbing by Manchester City earlier this month.

Arne Slot’s men were then knocked out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain for the second season in a row.

Liverpool produced a relatively better display in the second leg of their quarter-final tie on Tuesday, but they still ended up losing 2-0 at Anfield.

They now turn their attention to the Premier League, where they are at risk of losing their remaining away fixtures

Team News

Everton don’t have many injury woes this weekend, with Jack Grealish the only missing player for the Merseyside derby. Charly Alcaraz has recovered from an unspecified problem and he will be available on Sunday.

As for Liverpool, they will be without Hugo Ekitike, who faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering an Achilles tendon injury

Alisson Becker, Joe Gomez, Wataru Endo, Conor Bradley and Giovanni Leoni will also be missing as they are all confined to the infirmary.
