Premier League action returns on Saturday as Everton welcome West Ham United to Goodison Park in an exciting fixture.
The Toffees haven’t lost in their previous eight league matches and will look to continue their impressive run this weekend on Merseyside.
Match Preview
Everton will enter the upcoming home game on the back of a 1-1 draw at Wolverhampton Wanderers last week.
The Blues took the lead through Jack Harrison whose deflected strike beat goalkeeper Jose Sa in the 40th minute.
But the hosts struck back before the break as Marshall Munetsi scored after being set up by Jean-Ricner Bellegarde’s lovely weighted pass.
David Moyes’ men could have come away with maximum points had it not been for a brilliant stop from Sa to deny Beto.
However, the latest result put Everton 16 points above the relegation zone, which means Premier League survival is almost guaranteed for them now.
The Irons, on the other hand, have the same points as the Toffees but their form under manager Graham Potter has been anything but encouraging for West Ham Blog fans.
Since replacing Julen Lopetegui at the helm, Potter has won three and lost five of his nine matches in charge.
The Hammers looked to have turned a corner after back-to-back wins over Arsenal and Leicester City. But they once again showed their inconsistent side as they went on to lose 1-0 to Newcastle United at the weekend.
The East Londoners were second best for the majority of the contest and deservedly lost after a 63rd-minute winner from Bruno Guimaraes.
Team News
Everton continue to be without several key players due to fitness issues, including Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Iliman Ndiaye, Armando Broja and Seamus Coleman. Meanwhile, Dwight McNeil and Orel Mangala will also be missing because of injury problems.
As for West Ham, Michail Antonio, Niclas Fullkrug and Crysencio Summerville are guaranteed absentees as they are still on the treatment table.
